I've tried to identify the small house but to no avail, so have given it the name of Tinklers House because of its close proximity to Tinklers Plantation (for the sole purpose of identification on this website).

The house is in a very bad state of repair with the entire south west gable end sinking into the ground and slowly separating from the rest of the structure - to the point of the rear wall of a cupboard now allowing access into the next room because of the distance that the wall has moved. The house was very modest and may have been a smallholding, though the small outbuildings have remains of gutters (unusual for a barn) and may have been further possible accommodation. It looks as thought the house was extended at some point because a blocked up doorway in the parlour looks as though it would have lead to the rear garden area rather than to the 'new' pantry. The entire structure is in a terrible state and will surely be subject to a more severe collapse in the near future because of the movement of the land down the steep hill descending towards the road below.

Latest update: More 360 degree places added!. Smallcleugh mine - Album and Movie added to the database, Ayton Banks Mine Trip added and updated to the movies section.
