The Whistle Project

I don't mine for a living (much that I'd love to) but work within mechanical engineering during the normal week.

I became involved in an amazing project for a local artist to manufacture pieces (N.E.R locomotive whistles) for the Great Exhibition of the North where by at exactly 1 pm every day, 16 whistles would fire around the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne in perfect unison being triggered by the atomic clock. The whole design and build process was filmed by several television production companies including the BBC, WeLove Media and Tyne & Wear TV all of which have now been broadcast.

WeLove Media has published the final 14 minute movie on YouTube and kindly allowed me to share on my website.

Latest update: More 360 degree places added!. Loads of movies recently added in the Weardale area including Groverake, Skears and Frazers Hush mines.
